A Gallup survey released this past Friday found that 51 percent of those asked, call themselves “pro-life” and only 42 percent “pro-choice.” This is the first time that the majority of Americans have identified themselves as “pro-life” since Gallup began asking this question in 1995. It was just last year that Gallup found that 50 percent termed themselves “pro-choice” while 44 percent described their beliefs as “pro-life.”
The Pew Research Center found a similar phenomenon. In August 2008, 54% of those polled believed that abortion should be legal in all or most cases, but in their most recent poll only 46% now believe that abortion should be legal in all or most cases. That is a decrease of 8%!
Many Pro-abortioners are now saying that these polls are not accurate. Of course they were not saying that when the polls were in their favor. And they can’t have it both ways.
The fact is that most Americans are pro-life, but have been brainwashed into believing that they don’t have the right to stand up for a baby’s rights. Recently a talkshow host asked for calls from women who would themselves get an abortion if necessary. He did not get a single call. Instead he got calls from people who wouldn’t ever consider getting an abortion, but believe that limited abortions should be legal. Why? Because they didn’t feel that they had the right to speak out. Why? Because they have been brainwashed into thinking that there is only one life that matters in the abortion debate, that of the mother’s, and that the pre-born baby’s life doesn’t matter at all.
The truth is that ALL LIFE MATTERS. And it cannot be up to failed and biased humans to determine which life matters more.
